Understanding local business culture and working with local people are extremely important for companies striving to succeed in an overseas market.

An aspiration to trade and promote on an international stage?

If your answers to the above are yes, you are invited to submit an application to this competition!

Two winning companies will gain free exhibition space at the 14th China (Shenzhen) International Culture Industries fair on 10 – 14th May 2018 and the opportunity to promote their products and services.

Each of the companies will be assigned tailored support via the City of Edinburgh Council’s partner, Shenzhen Creative Investment Group, to help them organise a highly creative exhibition space and programme meetings to promotion their own product or service.

Shenzhen is the ‘Silicon Valley’ of China, and the most economically competitive city in China.

The prize

Winner x 1: Return flight & 6 nights’ accommodation in Shenzhen for 1 person.

(Economy class return flights between Edinburgh & Hong Kong plus standard double room with single occupancy)

Runner-up x 1: Return flight for 1 person. 

(Economy class return flights between Edinburgh & Hong Kong) 

Eligibility

Edinburgh based companies in the creative and tech sectors. Consideration will also be given to Lothian based companies. The most successful entries will have highly creative and market ready products/services.

Please email a one-page summary of how you meet the criteria above, and any supporting documentation by 21 February 2018 to: annmarie.macaskill@edinburgh.gov.uk can be delivered in the Chinese market.

Companies must be willing to work with businesses in Shenzhen and allocate sufficient resources between February and May 2018 to develop this.
