    Chief Executive, The City of Edinburgh Council

    Andrew took up post as Chief Executive of the City of Edinburgh Council on 27 July 2015. He was previously Chief Executive of Cornwall, Wiltshire and North Tyneside councils, and Chief Operating Officer in Cardiff. Known for his work on Social capital, with an interest in developing communities, a reputation for his approach to change management and large scale joint ventures for economic benefit, he is one of the most experienced local government leaders working today.

  • Paul LAWRENCE

    Executive Director - Place, The City of Edinburgh Council

    Paul's responsibilities include planning, housing, transport, regulatory services and environment, as well as economic development and culture. Paul joined the Council in late 2015. Previous to this, Paul was Corporate Director for Place at Stockport Council – one of the ten local authorities in the Greater Manchester city region, with a similar range of responsibilities. Paul started his working life in the cultural sector, before being appointed as Head of Cultural and Economic Development at Newcastle City Council in 2000.

  • David COOPER

    Head of Development, The City of Edinburgh Council

    As Service Manager for Development in the Economy Service, David's main task will be delivering development and supporting infrastructure for Edinburgh. He is a town planner with over 15 years experience working for the Council in the field of planning and development. His roles have included managing the local development plan, development management and building standards services, and co-ordinating the Council's approach to developer contributions. He has also worked on the delivery of several major projects in the city, including the Edinburgh Tram.

  • Hans MÖLLER

    Director, Edinburgh BioQuarter

    Hans moved to Edinburgh BioQuarter in October 2017 having worked as the Innovation Director for the North East LEP, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Hans was previously CEO of Ideon Science Park in Lund, Sweden, the largest science park in Scandinavia. Hans is the current Chair of the Karolinska Institutet Science Park in Stockholm and was the Chair of SiSP (the Swedish Incubators and Science Park organisation) from 2006 to 2012. Hans has over 30 years of managerial experience including all areas of innovation, promotion, sales and marketing.

  • Hugh EDMISTON

    Director of Corporate Services, The University of Edinburgh

    Hugh is the Director of Corporate Services at the University of Edinburgh. He is responsible for the overall management of the Corporate Services Group which includes the University’s estate, finances and commercialisation of research.

    Director of Estates, The University of Edinburgh

    As Director of Estates, Gary is responsible for one of the largest and most diverse University estates in the UK.  He moved to Edinburgh from Queen’s University Belfast in 2014 to lead on a £1.5B capital investment which translates the University’s academic vision into reality, and entails spending in the region of £200m per annum for the foreseeable future. Gary has considerable experience in estates projects and facilities management, and is very well known in the Higher Education sector.
