TH RE builds Edinburgh position with mixed-use buy

TH Real Estate has bought the OMNi centre, a mixed-use asset in the heart of Edinburgh, from Aviva Investors.

The centre is being acquired on behalf of TH Real Estate’s European Cities Fund, which was launched in 2016 as a pan-European open-ended real estate investment vehicle, for an undisclosed sum.

The 220,000 sq ft leisure complex was one of the top ten holdings in Aviva’s £1.5bn Property Trust and is anchored by a Vue Cinema and home to restaurants including Nando's, Frankie & Benny’s and The Filling Station.

It is located at Greenside Place opposite TH Real Estate’s £1bn St James Centre development, in which it owns a 25% stake on behalf of its UK Shopping Fund.

The scheme incorporates a number of bars and restaurants, as well as a health and fitness club let to Nuffield Health, and a luxury 77-room five-star hotel trading as The Glasshouse...
