Direct long-haul routes connect Edinburgh with Beijing, Chicago, Doha, Dubai, Istanbul, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, Washinton D.C. and further afield.
The airport also connects Scotland to many leading European business destinations including London, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Frankfurt, Geneva, Madrid, Munich, Paris, Rome, Vienna, Zurich and Scandinavia.
On average, there are 53 flights (2016) every day between Edinburgh Airport and London, with a one-hour flight time, and connections to more than 20 UK and Ireland hubs including Birmingham, Manchester and Belfast.
With passenger numbers predicted to rise to more than 26 million by 2030, significant investment is underway to develop and extend Edinburgh Airport, with almost £250m pledged over the next decade to improve capacity and facilities.
Recent investments at the airport include a new £25m landside terminal extension that has delivered an additional 6,000m2 of public space, including a larger state-of-the-art security area that allows passengers to move through the airport faster and more efficiently.
The Airport, open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, is owned and operated by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP).
