Virgin Hotels (FDI) - Miami - Hotel

Edinburgh is to be the location of the first Virgin Hotel outside the US. India Buildings will be converted into a 225-room high-end hotel with multiple dining and drinking outlets.

Connection Retail (Domestic) - Shildon, County Durham - Retail

The flooring retailer is to open a new store in Edinburgh, selling products from the company’s three brands: Flooring Superstore; Direct Wood Flooring; and Grass Direct.

ARRAN Sense of Scotland (Domestic) - Brodick, Isle of Arran - Retail

The luxury bath, body and home fragrance retailer, ARRAN Sense Of Scotland has opened a new store in Waverley Mall.

Six by Nico (Domestic) - Glasgow - Food and Drink

‘Six by Nico’ in Edinburgh will be the third addition to the award winning restaurant portfolio.

Julius Baer International (FDI) - Zurich - Financial Services

Switzerland-based private banking group, Julius Baer, is set to open a new office in Edinburgh. The team of five advisors and wealth managers will serve the local market.

PureGym Ltd (Domestic) - Leeds - Leisure

Pure Gym is to open a new gym facility - their seventh in the city - as part of the refurbishment of the Scotsman Hotel.

Leeds Building Society (Domestic) - Leeds - Financial Services

The building society’s growth has led to a doubling of staff in recent years to around 1,400. It is looking at other locations and the next branch to open will be Edinburgh.

Co-operative Group (Domestic) - Manchester - Retail

The Co-op plans to create 275 new jobs as it prepares to open 18 new stores in Scotland, including Edinburgh, in 2018.

Paragon Building Consultancy (Domestic) - London - Business Services

English building and project consultancy Paragon has opened its Scottish office in Edinburgh, which will be headed by former Knight Frank partner David Philip.

SES Engineering Services (Domestic) - Leatherhead, Surrey - Construction

National engineering specialist SES Engineering Services has opened its second Scotland office in Edinburgh.

Hawksmoor (Domestic) - London - Food and Drink

Hawksmoor has announced plans to open its first steak restaurant and bar in Edinburgh this summer.

Cairngorm Capital (Domestic) - London - Financial Services

Cairngorm Capital opens Edinburgh office and enlarges investment team, following the firm’s investment in portfolio companies, Stevenswood Group and Thornbridge.

KPV LAB (FDI) - Berlin - ICT

Berlin-headquartered tech firm KPV LAB has expanded into Scotland, acquiring the top floor of One St Andrew Square in Edinburgh.

UBS (FDI) - Basel - Financial Services

Global financial services company UBS has signed a 10-year lease on the third floor of the refurbished One St Andrew Square.

Baxter's Food Group (Domestic) - Fochabers, Moray - Food and Drink

Soup giant Baxters Food Group has opened a new head office in Edinburgh as part of its plans for continuing worldwide growth.

Halewood Wines and Spirits (Domestic) - Liverpool - Food and Drink

Historic Crabbie whisky brand returns to Edinburgh with the opening of a new micro-distillery in Leith's Granton Harbour this summer.

Barrhead Travel (Domestic) - Glasgow - Retail

Barrhead Travel is to invest £3.5 million over five years in a new experience store at Fort Kinnaird Retail Park, creating 16 jobs.

AES Solar (Domestic) - Forres - Energy

AES Solar, one of Scotland’s longest standing manufacturer and installer of solar PV panels, has set up a base in Edinburgh due to increased demand for its products.

Buzzworks Holdings (Domestic) - Prestwick - Food and Drink

Hospitality group Buzzworks Holdings, is to open a new restaurant under its flagship Scotts brand at Port Edgar Marina, South Queensferry, creating around 60 new jobs.
