We are growing our presence across the UK, with aparthotels in Liverpool, Birmingham and Edinburgh. We offer comfortable and spacious apartments in urban locations, with fully equipped kitchen and hotel services for extended stays. Our model is based on an attractive tiered pricing from the fourth night onwards – the longer you stay the less you pay.

The brand is a 50/50 joint venture between French hotel operator AccorHotels and tourism services group Pierre & Vacances Center Parcs. Both companies are headquartered in Paris.

Adagio Aparthotels has three product ranges covering midscale, economy and premium markets in European cities.

Edinburgh is the third UK opening, following launches in Liverpool in 2013 and Birmingham in 2015.

What makes Edinburgh such an attractive market?

Edinburgh is a great city in many ways. Due to its history, architecture, stunning landscapes and friendliness of its people, it attracts more and more visitors every year.

Edinburgh is also one of the most culturally rich cities in the world and during August, when the Edinburgh Festival takes place, it becomes the world capital of arts and culture.

Last but not least, Edinburgh is a city of business and industry with global companies and international banks represented. Other important sectors are Education, with four universities, and Government, with the Scottish Parliament based in the city.

What roles will be created? What are the hotel’s key features?

Several jobs have been created directly at the Edinburgh Royal Mile Adagio Aparthotel hotel including management roles, reception jobs and food and beverages roles. The hotel employs 12 people directly and seven more jobs are supported through subcontractors.

Our 146 rooms are a mixture of studios and one bedroom apartments, all with fully equipped kitchens, free Wi-Fi and LCD televisions. The 106 studio apartments sleep up to two people, while the 40 one-bedroom apartments sleep up to four people.

The aparthotel’s overall aesthetic is inspired by the cityscapes of Edinburgh, and the common areas are based on the concept of a members’-only-style club. Facilities include a fitness centre, business corner and 24/7 hotel reception.
