Hadlow Edwards opens regional office in Edinburgh

Published: 20 November 2017

Hadlow Edwards, part of St James Wealth Management, has opened a Scottish regional office in Edinburgh as part of the company's wider UK expansion plans. We spoke to Operations Director Dominic Richmond…

Your business in brief?

Our main Hadlow Edwards office is in Wrexham, north Wales. We also have a London office in Piccadilly, headed by Gwyn Edwards, who services our Southern-based clients.  We have recently added Natalie Ferguson to the team to develop our business in Scotland. We now have 10 advisers and a support team of 16, carrying out various roles from adviser personal assistant, to processing and para planning (the preparation of financial planning documents).

...our plan is to add to our adviser numbers – and this will also lead to the creation of local personal assistant and para planning roles [in Edinburgh].

Dominic Richmond, Operations Director, Hadlow Edwards

We were established in 2000 by Medwyn Edwards and Warren Hadlow, and have gone on to become a leading practice within St. James’s Place.  We advise more than 2,000 clients and manage around £290m of client funds.  We advise on all aspects of financial planning, including mortgages, have both Chartered Financial Planner and Society of Later Life Advisers status, and carry out our duties in a professional and committed manner.  Annual turnover is in excess of £2m and our growth strategy looks set to continue.  We see ourselves as very much part of the local community and are very involved in many local charities, particularly in Wrexham, having been established there for 17 years.

What makes Edinburgh so attractive?

Edinburgh is a beautiful, vibrant city with a diverse community.  By appointing Natalie there, we have an adviser who understands St. James’s Place and Hadlow Edwards’ distinctive approach to client servicing and who will support our northern located clients and develop our proposition in line with our growth plans.

Natalie Ferguson will support Hadlow Edwards’ northern located clients and develop their proposition in line with growth plans.

What presence will you have?

Initially, we will have Natalie in Edinburgh advising.  However, our plan is to add to our adviser numbers – and this will also lead to the creation of local personal assistant and para planning roles.

What's the vision?

To continue the work that Medwyn and Warren started in 2000. The approach then was to support any client whatever their financial need, and we still remain true to that.

Over the years, we have added talented people to the team, and today we have a fantastically strong adviser and support team to deliver our vision of providing quality advice across much of the UK.
