The business was founded in 2009 by Marc Taylor. Since then, we’ve significantly grown our reputation and client base across the central belt. We have added several new members to our ever-expanding team over the past few months and now have 17 people.
Spearheaded by Marc and myself, our key aim as a business is to provide a quality service focused on care and attention to detail. The firm currently manages more than 700 luxury properties with a collective value of more than £150 million.
What makes Edinburgh an attractive market for you?
Many of our long-established clients in Glasgow also have properties in Edinburgh and felt there was a gap in the market for a firm like ours, with a focus on quality of service.
There was a genuine demand from landlords and tenants for a higher standard of customer service and client care across the capital and this has driven our expansion.
By opening an office in Edinburgh city centre, we can extend the levels of customer care our Glasgow clients receive through to the east coast. It will also allow us to bolster our reputation right across the central belt and provide an alternative for people who have justifiably high expectations of a letting agency.
What presence will you have here? What jobs or roles will be created?
Our Edinburgh portfolio is managed by a team of five experienced staff members. The team includes: Lisa, property manager; Angus, letting negotiator; Lesley, operations manager; Lauren, accounts; and myself, divisional director.
The new office has made a strong start, adding 63 properties to our portfolio. As the business continues to grow across Scotland’s east coast, we’ll look to increase staff numbers in the coming weeks, months and years - to make sure our clients are always getting the highest levels of service.
What's the vision for your business?
We’re an ambitious company and our target is to have 1,000 properties under management by 2019. The Tay team will continue to grow to match the increasing workload. Our goal is to be the go-to letting agent for landlords and tenants alike.
The investment arm of the business has gone from strength-to-strength recently. Last month, the company completed a £3 million deal to secure a block of flats for a client in Edinburgh. There will be a major focus on growing this side of the business through our new Edinburgh office.
