Your business in brief?
Paragon is an independent building and project consultancy founded in London in 2009. We opened our second office in Manchester in 2015 and launched our Edinburgh office on George Street in January 2018. We provide integrated services throughout the entire lifecycle of property assets, from project management and building surveying to cost consultancy and project monitoring.
The city has a global reputation as an outstanding place to live, work and visit and this, in turn, attracts significant inward investment.David Philip, director and Edinburgh office head, Paragon
We work with a range of commercial property owners, funders, occupiers and decision-makers in all parts of the UK and Europe. We already provide a range of services to clients either based or owning property in Scotland, including Aberdeen Standard Investments, Rockspring Property Investment Managers, Tristan Capital, Ediston Real Estate and Oval Real Estate. We employ more than 100 people and have a turnover of £12.2m.
There’s a great deal of opportunity for Paragon in Edinburgh and across Scotland. The city has a global reputation as an outstanding place to live, work and visit and this, in turn, attracts significant inward investment. As a World Heritage site, Edinburgh is also home to many innovative building, renovation and infrastructure projects.
The city is established as a financial services centre and has a burgeoning global reputation as a leading technology hub, particularly in terms of fintech. These businesses are some of the most active in Edinburgh’s commercial property market due to their rate of growth.
When all of these factors are combined, it creates a very strong and evolving market for our building and project consultancy services.
What jobs or roles will be created?
We have a clear growth strategy for our Edinburgh office. We offer a fully integrated service which draws on specialisms and sector knowledge from across our business. Following our successful launch, we are already looking to hire an additional qualified surveyor – the first of many appointments to further augment our Edinburgh-based team.
What's the vision for your business?
Our intention is to rapidly develop the Edinburgh office, so I’m very pleased with the start we’ve made. We’re excited by what the future holds and look forward to further making our mark in the city and beyond.
