Money Dashboard was founded in 2010 to help UK consumers make their money go further by empowering them to make informed financial decisions. Our team of 22 operates out of tech incubator CodeBase and serves over 100,000 consumers across the country.

This investment is particularly significant with the launch this month of Open Banking, which allows people to share their current account information securely with third party providers other than banks. This helps us cement our place at the forefront of UK fintech.

We do this through our free Personal Finance Assistant, which integrates all the user’s current accounts, credit cards and savings accounts into one secure app that then shows them exactly where their money goes. This then helps them to spend, save and borrow more efficiently.

Our market-leading app has also enabled us to build a rapidly growing data insights business, serving some of the world’s largest fund managers in North America and the UK.

Tell us about the recent funding campaign?

Following four weeks of campaigning on Crowdcube, we have successfully crowdfunded £1.5m of investment from over 1,700 investors across six continents.

We are also thrilled that more than half of the investors are users of our app, as this demonstrates their commitment to our product.

This investment is particularly significant with the launch this month of Open Banking, which allows people to share their current account information securely with third party providers other than banks. This helps us cement our place at the forefront of UK fintech.

What will the new funds allow you to do?

Since closing our funding round, we’ve already begun expanding our team across all key areas including software development, customer support and business operations.

What's the vision for your business?

Twenty one million UK adults have less than £500 in savings and a further 19 million do not have an approach to budgeting that they feel works.

We want personal financial insights to be available to all UK consumers – regardless of their position – and intend to lead millions of consumers towards financial freedom.
