Leeds-based law firm Walker Morris has recently opened a new office in Edinburgh’s Lochrin Square to expand its UK-wide reach. We spoke to Rob Aberdein, the firm’s banking litigation partner…

We are a full service commercial law firm with specialisms in banking and finance, construction, commercial, competition, corporate, financial services, litigation/dispute resolution, employment, environment, insolvency, intellectual property, pensions, planning, public sector and projects, real estate, regulatory, and tax. 

The firm took its current form in 1988 following the merger of two successful firms, Walker Morris & Coles and Scott Turnbull & Kendall – but we can trace our origins back to the 1880s.

What presence will you have here? What jobs or roles will be created?

Short term, we are focused on growing our legal services for lenders. These are primarily litigation, regulatory and conveyancing roles.

Our recruitment will focus on lawyers and paralegals with those backgrounds.
