1600 homes set for Waterfront site

Developers are to bring forward detailed plans for around 1,600 new homes at Edinburgh's Western Harbour site.

Forth Ports proposals to redevelop its Western Harbour site between Leith and Newhaven have moved forward as the updated development framework was approved by councillors.

The new community will include a large park, a board-walk promenade and a new school. 

Forth Ports has submitted a funding bid to the Scottish Government for a loan to accelerate delivery of affordable housing at the waterfront site.
