Blockchain specialist targets worldwide expansion

Blockchain specialist Wallet.Services plans to expand overseas and recruit new staff after winning a place on a mobile phone giant's exclusive accelerator programme.

The Edinburgh firm won new business from clients including the Scottish Government, Baillie Gifford and Citylets last year.

It is collaborating on its technology that involves secure payment systems and product tracking software with AFRC at the University of Strathclyde.

Wallet.Services successfully competed with 140 international companies for a place on the Telefonica O2 accelerator programme for scaling businesses. Venture capital firm Mercia Technology backed its award-winning SICCAR software platform in its funding round for Q4 of 2018.

It plans to add senior and crypto engineers to its development team in the capital this year. Wallet.Services was founded by Stuart Fraser and Peter Ferry in 2016 to reduce security risks in people's increasingly digital lives...
