British Airways announces new flights to Florence

British Airways is to further expand its regional services with new flights from Edinburgh as it prepares to expand its fleet.

The new services, which will operate through the airline’s subsidiary BA Cityflyer, include an extra weekday service from London City to Frankfurt from January 2018, taking the total number of flights up from 20 to 24 per week.

The new Embraer 190 jets will be a welcome addition to our fleet as we continue to grow our route network and frequencies both from our home base at London City and from other UK regional airports.

While the carrier will increase the number of flights from London City to both Milan Linate (from 11 to 23 flights per week) and Dublin (32 to 36 flights per week) - also from January 2018. BA will also launch new weekly summer-only flights from Manchester to Florence and Dublin, as well as a new Edinburgh-Florence route.

All of these services will start in May 2018. The airline said the extra flights and routes were being made possible by the arrival of two new 98-seat Embraer 190 aircraft, which will be delivered in January and April 2018. BA has already announced plans to increase flights from Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol in summer 2018...
