Edinburgh Airport has busiest June ever

Edinburgh Airport has experienced its busiest June on record with more than 1.4 million passengers, due to new route growth and increased capacity on existing routes.

In June, domestic passengers totalled 461,127, up 3.8% on the same time last year, and international numbers increased 4% to 952,485.

Edinburgh Airport said popular destinations last month included the USA and Canada, Eastern Europe, west Mediterranean and the Canaries and city destinations such as Rome, Madrid, Porto, Reykjavik and Helsinki.
