Galvanise in bid to grow portfolio

Galvanise Capital, a Scottish angel investment firm, is set to grow its portfolio and investor base this year underpinned by a strategy built around the firm’s credentials and track record.

Founded in 2012, Galvanise Capital’s syndicate currently totals 35 - including high profile entrepreneur investors Rob Dobson, Jon Claydon and Dan Kersh.

Edinburgh in particular, has massive potential to build a pipeline of scaleable data-driven companies.

The portfolio of investee companies is up to eight with the recent investment in Creative AI, a London-based startup using AI-powered software to optimise social media marketing.

Galvanise Capital’s other portfolio companies are Adimo, Appsumer, Phrasee, Pixey, FocalData, BLACKBX and Whichit. Galvanise Capital secured its first exit in 2017, when customer insight and analytics business Aquila Insight was acquired by US marketing player Merkle.

In addition to upping its investor base and adding more investments this year, Galvanise Capital will be growing its team in Edinburgh and recently hired former corporate lawyer and Saltire Fellow Kate McKay as an associate as the firm enters its next phase of growth...
