Hyatt Hotels to launch first hotel in Scotland

US group the Hyatt Hotels Corporation is set to launch its first hotel in Scotland after winning the bid to operate a new spa and conference hotel at Edinburgh Marina.

The new Hyatt Regency Hotel, overlooking the 340 berth marina, will comprise 187 rooms with serviced apartments and a presidential suite.

There will also be a health spa and fitness centre, a 10,000 sq ft conference and banqueting centre, plus restaurants and bars. Edinburgh Marina is being developed around Granton Harbour to the east of Edinburgh city centre.

Hyatt said Edinburgh Marina 'is the perfect springboard for us to launch our brand in Scotland'. The move comes after the company's executive vice president Peter Fulton said earlier this year that Edinburgh was a location where Hyatt customers "want to go".

Hyatt is a highly regarded international hotelier and is a perfect fit for this luxury waterfront development.”
