Money Dashboard prepares for further fundraising

Money Dashboard, the Edinburgh-based personal finance app with almost half a million downloads, is preparing for a further round of fundraising in the new year.

The free, award-winning app, which was Best Personal Finance App at the British Bank Awards in both 2017 and 2018, has added a revenue stream in the form of anonymised consumer spending insights.

We are close to announcing a major industry partnership and are actively considering a number of options for additional growth capital in 2019...

The company has opened a London office, user numbers have grown by 30 per cent; and a data insights deal has been signed with a global market research company.

Steve Tigar said: “The adoption of online tools such as Money Dashboard is building momentum in the UK and set to catch up with countries like the United States where millions of consumers use comparable apps to help manage their finances.’’

The company generates revenue by creating market research from anonymised bank statement data, for example by helping hedge funds predict revenue announcements of listed companies...
