Ventient opens Edinburgh HQ

UK wind farm owner Ventient Energy has commenced a significant expansion into Europe as Scotland’s energy minister Paul Wheelhouse opens its Edinburgh HQ.

The Edinburgh firm has taken a 49% stake in a 1GW wind generation portfolio across Spain, Portugal, France and Belgium.

Ventient will now manage 56 mainland Europe projects alongside its UK portfolio which currently comprises nearly 690MW installed capacity across 34 wind farms country-wide.

The European deal – which was announced to markets late last year – underscores Ventient Energy’s stated ambition to grow significantly in the years ahead.

Officially opening Ventient Energy’s new flagship headquarters in Edinburgh today, Paul Wheelhouse MSP said: “I am delighted they have chosen Edinburgh as the location for their new headquarters."
