Proposed new homes at Meadowbank, Edinburgh.

A development partner is sought for the delivery of up to 600 homes next to Edinburgh's new Meadowbank sports centre.

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a development partner for the delivery of up to 600 homes (along with ground floor commercial space) on land adjacent to the new Meadowbank sports centre off Edinburgh's London Road.

The homes will be a mix of homes for sale and private rent along with homes for social rent and, potentially, mid-market rent. The Council is seeking a capital receipt for the land on which the private homes for sale and rent will be built.

Planning permission for the development was granted in October 2020 (reference: 20/00618/AMC). It will deliver around 600 homes (at least 35% of them affordable) in a mix of apartment blocks and colonies, along with eight ground floor commercial units.

The development will have a strong focus on active travel and on achieving net zero carbon. It is strategically located next to the flagship new sports centre, and just a short walk from the heart of Edinburgh city centre
