A selection of new arrivals to Edinburgh during 2024 is set out below. 

January

  • Black Sheep Coffee (London, England): Black Sheep Coffee is to open a new outlet at Edinburgh Airport next to International Arrivals 2.

  • Gucci (Florence, Tuscany, Italy): luxury fashion brand Gucci is to open a new shop on Multrees Walk in Edinburgh city centre.

  • Abacus Group (New York, New York, United States): Abacus Group, a specialist provider of IT solutions to the alternative investment sector, has opened an office in Edinburgh, creating 15 new jobs. The office will boost Abacus' customer support and R&D capabilities.

  • Aptia (London, England): pension administration company Aptia has leased 787 square metres (8,470 square feet) of space in the Verdant office building in Edinburgh's South Gyle Business Park.

  • Kloeckner Metals (Roswell, Georgia, United States): Kloeckner Metals has opened a new 9,290 square metre (100,000 square foot) stockholding and processing facility in Newbridge, Edinburgh that will stockpile 5,000 tonnes of carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.

  • Origin Coffee (Porthleven, England): speciality coffee roaster Origin Coffee announced the opening of an outlet on South College Street in Edinburgh's Old Town in spring 2024.

March

  • Phase Eight (London, England): fashion brand Phase Eight is to open a new shop on George Street in Edinburgh city centre.

  • ARC Inspirations (Leeds, England): ARC Inspirations is to open a new cocktail bar, "Manahatta Edinburgh", in Edinburgh.

  • Bensons for Beds (Accrington, England): Bensons for Beds is to open a new 418 square metre (4,500 square foot) shop in Craigleith Retail Park in Edinburgh on 1st September, creating five new jobs.

  • Independent Governance Group (London, England): the Independent Governance Group (IGG) - a specialist provider of trusteeship and governance services for occupational pension schemes - has opened a new office in Edinburgh city centre.

  • Strata (London, England): Strata - a specialist consultancy providing services to the investment industry, with a focus on the Aladdin and eFront platforms - has opened an office in the Fountainbridge neighbourhood of Edinburgh.

  • Rider Levett Bucknall (London, England): the construction consultancy Rider Levett Bucknall opened a new office in Edinburgh.

  • Greggs (Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England): a new Greggs bakery outlet opened at 62 Craigentinny Avenue North in Edinburgh.

  • MANGO (Barcelona, Spain): fashion retailer MANGO announced plans to open a new outlet in Edinburgh during 2024.

  • Ryman (Crewe, England): stationer Ryman opened a new Ryman Design Store on level one of the St James Quarter in Edinburgh city centre.

  • Yang Guo Fu (Shanghai, China): Asian dining brand Yang Guo Fu announced the opening of a new eatery on South Clerk Street in Edinburgh.

  • Resident Hotels (London, England): Resident Hotels will open a new 164-bedroom hotel at Drumsheugh Gardens in Edinburgh's West End in September.

June

  • Greggs (Newcastle upon Tyne, England): Greggs announced the opening of a new 139 square metre (1,500 square foot) bakery in the Ocean Terminal shopping centre in Leith, Edinburgh later this year.

  • Starbucks (Seattle, Washington, United States): a new Starbucks café is to open in a former bank on Queensferry Road in Edinburgh.

  • Starbucks (Seattle, Washington, United States): a new Starbucks café is to open in Edinburgh Airport.

  • EY (London, England): EY has launched a new Fintech Lab in Edinburgh to collaborate with start-up and scale-up companies to develop innovative financial solutions.

  • Adidas (Herzogenaurach, Bavaria, Germany): sportswear brand Adidas announced the opening of a 1,022 square metre (11,000 square foot) "The Pulse"  premium store in Edinburgh's Fort Kinnaird shopping centre.

  • Element Materials Technology (London, England): TIC services provider Element Materials Technology opened a new 1,486 square metre (16,000 square foot) European Global Business Services centre at 1 New Park Square in Edinburgh Park, Edinburgh. The GBS centre houses houses over 200 staff across commercial, cyber security, digital technology, finance, human resources, and legal.

  • Rodd & Gunn (Auckland, New Zealand): menswear brand Rodd & Gunn announced the opening of an 80 square metre (864 square foot) shop on George Street in Edinburgh city centre.

  • bspoq (Aberdeen, Scotland): marketing agency bspoq has opened a new office on George Street in Edinburgh city centre.

  • The Aesthetics Club (London, England): The Aesthetics Club is to open an aesthetic and skin care treatment clinic in Stockbridge, Edinburgh in autumn 2024.

  • PrettyGreen (London, England): creative communications agency PrettyGreen announced the opening of an office in Edinburgh.

  • City Auction Group (Peterborough, England): vehicle remarketing specialist City Auction Group has opened a new PurpleRock secure vehicle storage facility in Edinburgh. The facility will provide services such as vehicle repair, valeting, and inspections.

"The investment case for expanding Premier Inn at Edinburgh Airport is compelling. Close to 14.5 million passengers chose to travel from the airport in 2023, an increase of almost 30% on the year before, and aircraft movements are increasing especially to international destinations.   • Hotpod Yoga (London, England): Hotpod Yoga announced the opening of a new studio at Fountain Park in Fountainbridge, Edinburgh.

  • Studio MinaLima (London, England): multidisciplinary design studio Studio MinaLima opened a "House of MinaLima" gallery/shop on Cockburn Street in Edinburgh city centre. The new outlet will feature products such as stationery, homeware, accessories, and limited-edition prints.

  • Launchpad.build (Los Angeles, California, United States): manufacturing automation specialist Launchpad.build established a new research and development centre on George Street in Edinburgh city centre, creating 24 jobs. The centre will work to develop the firm's proprietary robotics technology, "Digitool", which helps to simplify automation tools and reduce manufacturing production costs.
